What a fantastic welcome from the amazing community in Levenshulme!

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us for our Grand Launch on the 13th April 2025 — it was a joy to work alongside so many familiar Levenshulme traders, as well as some brilliant new faces.

Thank you to the Market Traders, Shoppers, Entertainers, Suppliers, Press and Local Counsellors – it simply isn’t possible without you!

A huge thank you also to the press, local journalists, and BBC Radio Manchester for broadcasting live from the event. We’re also so grateful to the local councillors and community project groups who stopped by to say hello.

Special thanks to Manchester Council for choosing us to launch the Levenshulme Artisan Market, and to Tom and Paul for their invaluable help and support in bringing this new event to life.

Our children’s area was a big hit—and we’re already working on making it even better for next month! We also received some helpful feedback (yes, we heard you—draft beer is on the list!), and we’re taking it all on board to make each market even better.

Massive appreciation to our amazing event managers, the talented musician Jack Hamilton, and every single person who has supported Independent Street on this journey.

Levy Market has been a long standing and much-loved institution for the local community and it's traders, imbued a rich heritage and an asset which has set foundations for other markets to thrive. We are really proud to welcome Independent Street's Artisan Levy Market onto the site, the end product of a collaborative approach to bring a new market offering to the people of Levenshulme.

The new market will provide a unique space for small businesses, artisans, and food vendors, allowing them to thrive whilst also contributing to the local economy and offering residents and visitors access to high-quality products, delicious street food, and a welcoming social environment. We hope it will become more than just a market - but rather a hub for creativity, enterprise, and community spirit.

Local councillors have been working with the council officers to bring back a market to Levenshulme. Beyond its economic impact, the market fosters a strong sense of belonging, encouraging people to shop locally, connect with their neighbours, and celebrate the diversity of Levenshulme. Not just a place to shop, Levy Market is the heart of our community.

We are thrilled to have been selected to launch this iconic market back onto the Manchester Market scene. We’re incredibly excited to welcome back Levy’s loyal customers and introduce The New Levy Artisan Market to a new generation of visitors. With a focus on community, sustainability, and high-quality, local produce, we hope to make Levy Artisan Market the heart of Manchester for years to come.
