A central hub of the new market will be the newly refurbished Trestle Market Hall — a cornerstone of the £3.4 million regeneration project for the historic Market Hall. The updated venue now offers modern facilities and a direct new entrance from Leek’s main high street, ensuring easy access and an enhanced shopping experience.
Inside the hall, visitors can explore 27 artisan stalls featuring handcrafted goods, local produce, and independent retailers, alongside three permanent food vendors. Adding to the lively atmosphere, local DJs and musicians will perform throughout the day, and free children’s craft activities will be available, making it a fun outing for all ages.
Outside, an additional 23 stalls — including a vibrant mix of street food traders — will line the area around the new entrance, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor market experience and bringing renewed energy to the town centre.
We are absolutely thrilled to be launching these new monthly markets in Leek. The revamped Market Hall is a perfect example of how thoughtful investment in traditional market towns can help revitalise communities and support independent businesses. At Independent Street, we’re passionate about celebrating small enterprises, and this event is a fantastic opportunity to connect people with local talent, creativity, and enterprise. We can’t wait to welcome everyone!
