What an absolutely fantastic day we had at this year’s Prestbury Artisan Market!
The village truly came alive, buzzing with excitement, community spirit, and a heartfelt celebration of local creativity, craftsmanship, and hospitality.
From start to finish, the atmosphere along Prestbury High Street was nothing short of magical. It was wonderful to see families, friends, neighbours, and visitors from all over the area come together in such a joyous show of support for our incredible local artisans, independent businesses, and talented makers who showcased their beautiful, handcrafted goods throughout the day.
A True Celebration of Local Talent
The Prestbury Artisan Market is a shining example of what makes our village so unique – a thriving hub where creativity meets community. The stalls were overflowing with carefully curated treasures: handmade jewellery, stunning ceramics, locally produced food, bespoke home décor, and one-of-a-kind gifts you simply can’t find anywhere else.
Local restaurants and cafés pulled out all the stops to offer delicious street food, pop-up bars, sweet treats, and the much-loved traditional strawberries and cream. The variety of food and drink was simply outstanding and added a mouth-watering dimension to the market experience.
Family Fun and Unforgettable Moments
The Artisan Market was not just about shopping – it was a family day out packed with entertainment, smiles, and memorable moments. One of the standout highlights was the beloved Teddy Bear Zip Line from the church tower, which brought so much joy to the children. My little boy was absolutely over the moon as he watched his favourite Pikachu toy zip rapidly from the church spire to the ground – a thrilling sight that had both children and adults cheering with delight.
The festive atmosphere was perfectly complemented by live music and vibrant street performances. Massive thanks to Gemma and Ben from The Voice Box who kept the day lively with fantastic tunes, the energetic Karamba Samba Band who brought the rhythm and colour, and James from Punch and Judy who captured the hearts of young and old alike with his classic, crowd-pleasing show.
Community Spirit at its Finest
Events like the Prestbury Artisan Market wouldn’t be possible without the incredible efforts of so many people behind the scenes. Huge thanks to Prestbury Parish Council for their unwavering support and seamless organisation, and to our dedicated volunteers and road marshals who made sure everything ran smoothly and safely throughout the day.
A special shout-out to Ted for running the funfair attractions, Kat for her beautiful face painting that brought so many smiles, and every single artisan and local trader who made the market such a vibrant, special occasion.
The Weather Was on Our Side!
Despite the unpredictable British summer, we were blessed with sunshine for most of the day, with the rain holding off until the very end – just an hour before closing time! It was as if the weather knew we needed just a little more time to enjoy the community buzz, the delicious food, and the wonderful artisan stalls.
